10 Months Old

Growing like a weed! Seriously. He seems to be growing more up than out!

With another 2 inches in just a month Henry is measuring at 28inches long and a solid (still kind of small) 16lbs light : )

10 months

What does he need to work on these days?

Back floats – he’s not a fan!

We were able to get to the outdoor pool for a little family fun and he LOVED it!

IMG_6500

He definitely wasn’t afraid of getting wet!

IMG_6504

Poor boy struggled to keep his swim trunks up… weird how that seems to be a bit of an issue with us lately ; )

Ready for supper and bed!

What is he getting good at these days?

Reading! Okay, not reading more like “reading”. To watch him playing with his books has quickly become one of our favorite things right now.

Another favorite part of my day is going for walks. Now that he is officially out of the car seat and into the jogger we go for at least one walk a day. I swear he enjoys it more than this picture shows!

His army crawling has officially turned into some climbing so now I OFFICIALLY understand where gray hairs come from!

And can you guess what Henry has been getting really good at lately?

“Bye, Bye”

Can you tell where coach Gabe was standing? Smile

Alright, so I know I have been super behind on blogging and this isn’t the most exciting update so I’ll leave you with an extra special treat. Our newest, favorite – we can get enough of him – laughing video!!

ENJOY!

First overnight on a house boat!

Not many 10 month olds can say they slept on a boat but THIS guy can!

Okay, so he technically wasn’t sleeping in the picture…

This sailor knows better than to sleep on the job!

When he wasn’t busy with his captain duties he was eating… egg yolk, not fish flies – although we all enjoyed breakfast completely surrounded by them!

His favorite memories from the weekend would definitely be the time he spent playing with this pretty little lady. At exactly 3 months younger, little Miss Gretel didn’t seem to mind sharing everything with this guy. Hoping that is a sign for good things to come Smile

Fun in a Box

“Oh geez, what did she put me in now?”

20140716_142920

“Hmmm, it says….”

20140716_143257

“Ugh, I wish I could read!”

20140716_143315

“Wait, what’s under here?”

20140716_143011

“Seriously? What does it say!”

20140716_143054

“Alright Ma, you know what to do!”

20140716_143352

“Box me up!”

20140716_143446

Sorry, I didn’t box him up and send him on a visit.

Instead we played peek-a-boo!

First Illness

Well, we sure are glad it took him 9.5 months but it wasn’t fun having a sick little baby boy.

{Roseola} As Wikipedia puts it “is a viral infection that commonly affects infants and young children. It involves a pinkish-red skin rash and high fever.”

It started Thursday with him having a small fever, not much of an appetite for his favorite foods and sleeping A LOT! We thought it was just teething at first but after 4 days we decided to make sure it wasn’t a bacterial infection.

Thankfully, (after our first urgent care visit) it wasn’t! Monday morning he woke up with no fever – Yay! But there was a rash…. not horrible by any means but still kind of weird to see a rash all over our baby boy’s face, chest and back. Still lots of snuggling and sleeping for another two days.

Finally, Wednesday he was back to his normal self and it was a good thing! He had his two big cousins, Reagan & Garrison to wrestle!!

4th of July Weekend in Iowa

Our wonderful weekend started out by getting to enjoy the Shell Rock parade with our friend Lindsay and her twins Charlie and Nora. It was officially Henry’s first parade!

20140704_112142

Another first – eating out at a restaurant with our little eater! Now Henry has gone along with us to eat out before but not since he has been eating solid food. I think it is safe to say he was relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed himself!

20140704_183829

The best part of the weekend was our time over at Grandpa and Grandma Stauffer’s!

First up, Grandpa’s crawling clinic. Sorry to say he may need a few more lessons before he changes his army crawling technique…

20140705_193402

Kind of blurry but Henry LOVES sitting on Gabe’s shoulders and holding on tight. If he even thinks about getting grumpy UP he goes!

20140705_193700

And seriously, Gabe is ALL about fun! We had heard Silas had gotten a water gun so we came prepared!

IMG_6407

It was quite the battle : )

IMG_6401

Grandma and Henry stayed dry on the sidelines!

IMG_6402

Once Henry was ready for bed there were a few more snuggles to get in

IMG_6417

One lucky guy to have so much fun sitting in his lap!

IMG_6420

Once Henry went to bed it was firework time!

IMG_6422

Happy Spectators!

IMG_6429

Silas wasn’t quite willing to risk missing a moment of the action!

IMG_6432

Good thing we had we had been to Wisconsin : )

IMG_6439

P.S. Not to worry Henry, you got to see fireworks as well. Dad insisted on a family viewing of the Shell Rock fireworks. You enjoyed it : )
